Mount Mercy University’s first-ever day of giving, #HaveMercyGiveMercy, surpassed all goals and garnered Mustang pride throughout the community.
Aimed at earning 501 donors on May 1, the day ended with 670 donors or 133 percent of the goal—a record number of donors in 24 hours for Mount Mercy.
“#HaveMercyGiveMercy was a memorable day for the Mount Mercy community,” said Brenda Haefner ’96, vice president for development & alumni relations. “We are grateful to our alumni, faculty, staff, students and community for rallying around this effort and making history for MMU. We look forward to making this a new community tradition for years to come!”
Helping make the day a success, alumni spanning 74 years participated. Multiple MMU community members offered giving challenges, and a board of trustees $25,000 challenge was met because the 501 donor goal was surpassed.
More than $85,000 was raised for the Mount Mercy Fund, which provides unrestricted annual support to the university.
