When the Pomp and Circumstance March is over and the tassels have switched sides, what happens next? Mount Mercy University and TaxACT are teaming up to educate soon-to-be college grads on the next chapter: life after graduation.

“There are several things students aren’t entirely sure about when they leave the routines of college life,” stated Josie Takes, Mount Mercy alumni relations coordinator. “This day-long event is designed to help them collect valuable information before they leave Mount Mercy and enter the workforce.”

On Tuesday, April 1, students will gather across Mount Mercy’s campus to participate in informational sessions led by Mount Mercy alumni on everything from navigating the world of taxes to credit and debt management. Students will also have an opportunity to practice business-dining skills at an etiquette luncheon lead by Calista Gould, a certified etiquette instructor.

“Attendees registered to attend the sessions that best fit their goals after graduation,” said Danielle Rings, executive director of development. “Whether they’re curious about professional networking, or job interviews, or navigating conversations with human resources, or even understanding retirement plans, we have a session tailored to their needs.”

Over 130 Mount Mercy students are expected to attend Life After Graduation activities throughout the day.
