Jenny Valliere ’13
BA Public Relations/Communications
Hey, all! Jenny Valliere checking in. I graduated from Mount Mercy University in 2013 with a double major in Communications& Public Relations, and a minor in Spanish.
I currently work as the Assistant Program Director/Music Director/Afternoon Personality for Z102.9 radio station in Cedar Rapids.
I was born and raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In 2009, I graduated from Kennedy High School. Initially, I was nervous that Mount Mercy University was a little too close to home.
However, after choosing to live on campus all four years I couldn't have been more wrong. Living on campus was the best decision I could have made for myself.
Some of my best friendships were made at Mount Mercy.
I was crowned Miss Iowa USA in October 2017!
I am currently a mentor for Project Connect, a program for MMU students who are first-generation, low-income, or minority students to receive support their first year of college.
I also became a member of the Mount Mercy Alumni Board and a Big Sister in The Big Brothers Big Sisters Organization—I have been matched for 4 years now! Big Brothers Big Sisters is a mentor program that supports at-risk youth.
